Best known for playing Betty Turpin (Williams) in Coronation Street, and for her more famous Betty's Hotpots served in the Rovers Return on the Streets cobbles, has passed away On Saturday Morning (15/10/11)at the age of 91.

In January 2011 she told the BBC she would never retire. "I just love working and I will never retire - ever - they'll have to shoot me to get rid of me," she said. "I just love people, you see, and I love the cast."
ITV said Driver "died peacefully in hospital" early on Saturday morning. She had been in hospital for six weeks.

I for one will be quite sad to see her go but I am a big fan of corrie...

You can make mistakes in life but it is how you deal with them that makes you a better person or a worse person.

She tryed for the part of Hilda Hogdan, Did'ent get it. Retired from TV, Stage, Screen and the BBC she sang on there at the age of 10. Then ran her own Pub, With her Sister. Befor she was offered the part of Betty.
