On the new site, that is.

And I didn't get an invite, possibly because I only joined up here about an hour or so ago.

But I'm in; and it's lovely, but it's also very broked...

Not saying how I got in, but I didded it...

Ah, the need for the edit button - I forgot to ask a question - in ask!

Would you have a look around somewhere if you didn't have permission? Say, like a museum, or a police station, or a morgue, or a beta site?

I think they need people to keep away for the moment to sort some broken bits out.

Patience. We've managed it so far! Just another wee while can't hurt... :G11:

Just lucky with unchecked links, I suppose... :S27:

And I'm really not going to tell - these guys have worked wonders trying to get it all ready - I'm never going to allow them to be inundated with problems they can't fix immediately, just because I found a route through.

Yep. And please, please, please can people not go onto the site until they've either been invited into the beta or the doors are wide open. We need to carefully monitor what's going on and check for bugs and things so really can't have people turning up willy-nilly at the moment.

Be patient and above all: DON'T PANIC.

Look, I'm really sorry about this - you guys were maybe not expecting me and then I turned up. Apologies.

Nothing malicious, nothing un-toward, I just wanted a peek and I was let in, by you.

My hands are off - I'm a genuine guy - but if you want me on your 'please try to break it' list, then I'm well-qualified.

Yeah, we only spotted the link afterwards. Our bad.

No hard feelings, thank you for getting out when asked.

A patch has been applied so it is OK to go back in, but our coder has gone to bed so if it breaks overnight nobody can fix it. So don't bash it too hard, will you? :)

Well said Mr. D I can't believe after all the amazing 24/7 more or less work put in that people would act like this.

For christ sakes these people have worked wonders in a fortnight. Show some respect and *thought*.

I totally applaud them for their work. It would be like carefully putting out an exhibit..and letting someone in to bumble around.

It's bizarre how scared and emotional I felt going there. But it's also a bit like I don't want to break anything.

Really nice to read the FP..and see Stephen Fry's site is featured.

It's a bit too exciting for me..I'm going to take it slowly..and keep going there.

Deep breaths..;-)

Mrs Zen or someone, I just went to my ps on noohootoo and Nick has already left two messages on that 'No subject' thread where Venus left that hateful message in the last hour of h2g2.

I can't link..that doesn't work. You can get to my space by going to the 'Sex and rugby' thread on Ask..and clicking on my name at the end of that thread.

I have copied and pasted already but obviously can't link.

It's pretty horrible to have to start noohootoo in the way old h2g2 ended.

Plus I *don't* want that thread removed from my ps ever. I want the evidence there.

He's now also pm'd me.

Maybe one fine day on h2g2 people will actually listen to me about patterns I've seen going for years. Still bullying is endemic everywhere..because people refuse to face what goes on all the time.

That's a sad way to start off.

What, if anything, do you want the Moderators or Community Editors to do about it? Email [email protected] so they have everything in one place. That's how we can start building up patterns.
