#47981 Haunted House

Posted by randomlyrandom23 on 23 September 2012 - 10:51 AM

A story a colleague at work told me, spooky stuff so had to share.

Two seperate families with young children moved into the same house, at different times obviously. Both families had a mutual friend that they told this story too but they didn't know each other directly.

They reported hearing a little girls laughter from the staircase and they're children wouldnt go up stairs unaccompanied by an adult because 'the little girl in a red dress wouldn't let them' plus standard haunted house stuff, banging of doors etc.

The mutual friend decided to do some research into the house and found that it was built on an old lake where spookily enough, a little girl in a red dress had drowned early in the 19th century.

#45231 Thinking Of Living In A Caravan...

Posted by randomlyrandom23 on 01 June 2012 - 04:12 PM

So it came to me. If i were to abandon my house, buy a caravan or campervan and tour the country it would be my dream!

A few questions have popped up in my mind and i could search google all day for answers but perhaps some of you may know the answers to a few of my questions. Any help would be massively appreciated. links to info or anything like that. Thanks in advance.

Question 1. Is there such a thing as a nationwide temp agency? Or a temp agency at all in the UK. I know america has them but I'm not too sure about the UK.

Question 2. If I bought a dongle to access the internet from anywhere, which network would give me the best nationwide coverage?

Question 3. Would it be cheaper to insure a car towing a caravan or a camper van?

Question 4. Is it possible to receive jobseekers allowance between jobs if you have a) no fixed abode and b) if you are touring the country looking for work.

Question 5. Does housing benefit cover caravan sites?

Question 6. There are a lot of service stations throughout the country that offer shower and laundry services. How much, on average, would it cost to use these?

Question 7. Where is it legal to park a caravan up for the night? Only sites designed for it or are there other places you can 'pitch' for shorter lengths of time.

Question 8. How much is a small generator, how do they work (do you plug things directly into it or does it charge batteries or something else.. Do they require wind to create power) would everything i'd need run from a generator or would the car battery do the trick? Laptop, kettle, cooking equipment, entertainment equipment, charging up phones.

Question 9. Once a sim card is activated are there any steps i need to take to keep them active if I don't use them? I intend to have a cheap phone with every network sim in so I'll rarely be unable to make a phone call if needs be.

Question 10. Anything I may have overlooked as a major expense?

#39176 Christmas Dinner

Luckily it's not too far away so even if there's 4 foot of snow we could walk it. :D As for food poisoning, it could happen at home or a hotel really.. just gotta hope it doesn't :)

Well I, for one, have taken advantage of the generous xmas sale/gift from the owners of chat. THANK YOU!!!!

I've purchased a 90 day (3 month) sapphire.. It works out at £1.25 a week roughly.. Who can't afford that for those really cool extras? :D I'm looking forward to sending out a merry xmas multi-loggy, maybe gaining a few more friends with my extended friends list and hosting a few quizzes in a cabin that I can now open whenever I like. :D Not to mention I'm really happy to have the good ol' smileys back and spy info is essential if you're a nosy mare like me. :D1:

#34357 What Really Grates My Cheese

Posted by randomlyrandom23 on 20 October 2011 - 07:52 AM

Have you ever had a copycat? Either in real life or online.. Someone who watches what you do and copies you to the letter?

Trust me it's darn irritating! Get your own style my friend. Imitation may be the best form of flattery but it's the most unoriginal thing in the world. ;)

I dislike those people who take what I say and twist it about a bit and call it their idea.

Xmas wrapping in october!! I have less than 10 weeks left until xmas and I havn't started on the prezzies yet, stop reminding me.

4 year olds who fully believe that because they are awake at half 6 in the morning, you should be too.

People moaning about their situation when you're in a situation ten times worse and would swap in a heartbeat.

Going to the gym 4 - 5 times a week and getting called lazy for not going enough!

Wanting nothing more than a hug from your partner but he/she is halfway down the country :(

And enough ranting from me :D It feels good to get it off your chest sometimes. Soooooo... What grates your cheese?

#27878 Trueblood

Posted by randomlyrandom23 on 29 September 2011 - 07:19 AM

I really need to read those books lol

Trueblood is just.. Trippy. I can be watching it and every time I get confused before remembering that humans KNOW vampires exist.. It's just so original.
The vampires in trueblood are pretty lame for the most part though :D9: anything I've ever read or seen depict vamps as beautiful and graceful creatures of the night, Trueblood depicts the majority of vampires as trailer trash.. Tis a shame.

#25873 Vegetables: Frozen Vs Fresh

Posted by randomlyrandom23 on 14 September 2011 - 03:10 PM

I wouldn't pick and eat anything fresh because my mind would go into overdrive over how many creatures may have peed on, or otherwise defiled, them in some way.. Buy them at the supermarket and I don't have to wonder where they came from lmao. I'm a fussy eater when it comes to that.. Slightest thing can put me off a food for life.
